Beschreibung
The Citrus Calamondin mini orange is a beautiful ornamental tree that resembles a mandarin with a deliciously sweet smelling white blossom that is abundant in the spring. This Citrus Calamondin is a cross between the Mandarin and the Citrus Kumquat. This citrus tree grows small round, orange fruits that are about 4 cm in diameter. In Latin countries, the fruits of this symmetrical, compact plant are known as ‚agri-dulce‘ (sweet and sour), because the small, juicy orange fruits of the Calamondin first have a bitter taste but then a delicious sweet taste. The Calamondin can be eaten as a fruit, but is more often used in various dishes and liqueurs. This deliciously smelling plant can also be placed as a houseplant.
Dog Care
Citrus trees prefer a bright, sunny location, moderate watering and regular fertilization. It can take a year for the fruit to ripen, but it is well worth the wait. As for the location, place the plants outside in full sun from mid-March to October, but let them get used to the sun easily for the first few weeks to prevent leaf burn. Because the Calamondin is not winter hardy, it should be brought indoors during the winter. Reduce watering during the winter, but do not let the plant dry out completely. Too much or too little water can cause the fruit to fall off.
Format
The plant has a height of 35-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 14cm.
